Here's a list of our current projects that PMTB has either sponsored or is the primary Advocacy group spearheading the project.
In supporting the NYNJ Trail conference, we have helped with this project by providing resources and manpower. There is minor work required to complete the existing 7.5 miles of trails and some areas that need some bridging and fixing due to excessive precipitation. The total goal for trails are 30 miles.
We will need your help growing these trails.
Blauvelt State Park
Blauvelt was PMTB’s first main project where we built a small trail system from the ground up. PMTB is responsible for the continuous upkeep and maintenance of these trails currently. There are no new plans to build further trails although we are advocating for more, pending long term success of the existing network. The adjacent properties in Takamak and Clausland will require advocacy to get the land managers to approve any future trail building. Volunteers are always welcome.
Alpine Scout Camp
This new project is to advocate for the local Scouts BSA Crew and Troop and provide them with a safe and fun place to practice for their races and outings. This project is in its early stages of approval and working with the land managers. We hope to start digging more new trails as early as this spring.
